Let's celebrate Mirta's birthday in the most Italian way of all!

Mirta is turning 2 in September, and you're invited to celebrate with us through a virtual pizza party!

We consulted some of the most expert Italian nonne and wrote down for you a foolproof pizza recipe. Get your hands in the dough and be ready to fly to Italy at first bite.

What you need:

600gr/21 Oz 00 flour  

400gr/14 Oz water

8gr/0.28 Oz yeast

1 teaspoon of sugar

1 teaspoon of salt

Extra virgin olive oil

Tomato sauce

Mozzarella

Basil

Procedure:

Dilute the fresh yeast in a small quantity of water taken from the total. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and yeast, pouring the water a bit at a time. Once you obtain a fluffy dough add oil and salt and continue mixing until the dough becomes firm and smooth.

Now cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for an afternoon. When you start getting hungry and dinner time gets close, oil a pan and spread the dough. You should be able to have enough dough for 2 or 3 pans depending on their size.

Add some salt, basil and pepper to the tomato sauce and add it on top of your pizza dough. Preheat the oven at 250°C/482°F and once the temperature is reached, put the pizza in the oven for 15/20 mins. Add the mozzarella on top and let it cook until it completely melts.
