ATHISON

ATHISON

Giuseppe Polli founded Manifattura di Domodossola in 1913, producing cables and ropes for ships. After an intense research and major investments in technology, the company produced the first machine-woven belts in the world in the '70s. In a territory that is geographically and culturally distant from the fashion districts and the big urban centers, Manifattura di Domodossola has turned into the symbol of the woven industry. The passion for this land is the source of inspiration for the Polli family. Athison is, in fact, the ancient name of a sacred river that flows down from the Alpine glaciers and gives life to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Europe. Because of this connection, the Athison collection is manufactured with vegetable-tanned hide so the impact on health and environment is minimized during production, recycling, and disposal.
